I’ve always been a peanut butter person. My favorite snack as a kid was (and still is…) peanut butter and apple slices. A few years ago, I discovered almond butter and fell in love. I feel like it’s a more adult version of peanut butter and for some reason have convinced myself it’s healthier. While both high in fat, almond butter has more “good fats”, containing 50% more monounsaturated fat than peanut butter.

The downside to my almond butter obsession is the price. Justin’s version can set you back $13 and even the Trader Joe’s all-natural almond butter ain’t cheap. If you take a look at the ingredients, you will only see one listed: almonds. So why not make your own?! It’s as simple as throwing some almonds in your food processor. I like to add some sea salt for extra crunch and that salty kick!
