It’s Fall y’all! I’m sharing all my favorite things to do in Lexington when the temps start to drop. There are so many fun fall activities and festivals. Don’t miss out on this beautiful season!

9/22: The Musical World of Harry Potter

I must go!! A Harry Potter concert by the Lexington Philharmonic with Lexington Legends. Tickets start at $20.

Go to a UK Football Game

Or at least tailgate.. I grew up attending every home game and think it’s something you should experience at least once! I’ll be there pretty much every week.

9/22-24: Anderson County Burgoo Festival

A festival just south of Frankfort dedicated to this Kentucky specialty.

9/23-24: Shaker Village HarvestFest

Celebrate all things fall with a down-home harvest celebration for the entire family! Take a hayride and climb hay stacks. Shop for honey, breads and jams at the Harvest Market, then meet the farm animals and tour the apple orchard. Enjoy live music, food trucks and much more!

Go Apple Picking

And by apple picking, I mean eat apple cider donuts. Evans Orchard and Eckert’s-Boyd Orchard are both solid options.

9/24: Savory Cycle

Biking plus dinner from some of Kentucky’s best chefs.

Learn Something New

Level Up offers pop-up classes bringing you hands-on learning in small groups, taught by local experts. So far hand lettering and weaving are on the docket.

9/29: DelectABLE Bourbon Charity Dinner

Join Distilled Living and ABLE, a group that provides critical home repairs to low income individuals, disabled persons and military veterans, for a bourbon charity dinner. Tickets are $100 and benefit ABLE.

10/6: Noli Night Market

The first Friday of every month on North Lime.. local vendors, food trucks, beer and live music. Do you need more?

10/6-28: Keeneland Fall Meet

My favorite time of year! You have to make it to Keeneland at least once, if not every weekend.

10/20-22: Vintage Market Days

An upscale vintage-inspired market featuring original art, antiques, clothing, jewelry, handmade treasures, home décor, outdoor furnishings, consumable yummies, seasonal plantings and a little more at the Kentucky Horse Park.

Go on a historic ghost walk

Join a Certified Ghost Hunter, as she takes you on an unforgettable ghost walk around Gratz Park in downtown Lex. Every Friday from 8-9:30pm, cost is $15.

Transylvania Pumpkin Mania

Hundreds of jack-o-laterns are sure to to get you in the Halloween spirit! The date for the lighting hasn’t been set yet, but they are usually up the last week of October.

10/28-11/19: PRHBTN Exhibition

Join the Lexington Art League in celebration of street art within the Loudoun House Galleries. Exhibition is produced in partnership with PRHBTN’s seventh annual public art/mural festival that enlivens the community with new public murals in Lexington, KY each fall. Open Gallery hours are: Tuesday-Thursday 10am-4pm; Fridays 10am-8pm and Saturday and Sunday 1pm-4pm.

11/1: Day of the Dead Festival

Join the celebration and experience the rich visual, musical, dance and culinary traditions of this holiday that is celebrated in Mexico and parts of Central and South America. The Festival will include live music and dance performances, traditional food, hands-on crafts, art exhibits and a gallery talk by the artists, a candlelight parade, and an exhibition of altars in the Old Episcopal Burying Ground. On North Martin Luther King Blvd in downtown Lex.

11/25: Blessing of the Hounds

Join Shaker Village and the Woodford Hounds fox hunters for this grand, traditional event featuring a blessing of the hounds, riders and the fox, followed by the first meet of the formal hunting season. Warm up with à la carte grilled ham biscuits, Bloody Marys and Irish coffee alongside roaring outdoor fire pits.

11/24-25, 12/15: Market 301

I got several Christmas gifts here last year! At Manchester Music Hall and it’s free entry!

12/1-3: Holly Day Market

Put on by the Junior League.. I’m a member and on this committee 😉 At the Lexington Convention Center.

12/2: A Kentucky Christmas at Ashland

Featuring Kentucky Proud vendors and artisans plus Christmas carols at dusk and candlight tours of the historic home.
