Matcha Power Latte

Who else is obsessed with matcha? I think my obsession started with Starbucks green tea frappuccinos, which are not real matcha at all, but somewhat close. I’ve never been a coffee drinker, but needed an excuse to get a drink from Starbucks as a teenage girl, so I tried the green tea and was hooked. Since then, I’ve been drinking matcha lattes essentially anytime I see one on a menu.

I’ve recently become very intrigued by collagen peptides. What are those, you ask? A supplement that helps repair your skin from the inside out. Apparently collagen naturally starts to break down at the age of 21, so taking collagen peptides can help reverse that! They’re said to help with wrinkle prevention, keep your skin hydrated, reduce join pain and inflammation and are good for gut health. After some research, I found Vital Proteins to be the most recommended brand, which you can buy on Amazon.

Collagen peptides have essentially no taste, which is such a bonus because usually something that healthy doesn’t taste too good. I’ve tried putting them in smoothies and matcha lattes and have been pleased with both results. I decided a matcha latte was my favorite way to get all the health benefits of collagen peptides; matcha is already super healthy, so why not make a matcha power latte?! I buy matcha on Amazon too (I actually buy a surprising amount of groceries on Amazon…) there are lots of good options, but I recommend this one and this one.

Give it a shot and let me know what you think! I know making a latte in a blender seems silly, but it actually helps make an extra creamy and foamy latte. I use a little Magic Bullet blender, so I can drink right out of the cup that I blend it in if I want to. Has anyone else tried collagen peptides? What do you put them in? Gimme your tips!!

Biscuits & blessings,

Leels

  1. Weirdly, I’ve never had Matcha! I LOVE the idea of making froth in the blender; makes perfect sense!
