Sunday Reading V. 5

Happy Sunday, friends! Writing to you in bed with freshly-washed sheets. Isn’t that the best feeling in the world? Per usual, I ate a lot this week. Mardi Gras gave me more excuses than usual to indulge.. I did Fat Tuesday at Bourbon ‘n Toulouse, ate honestly the best King Cake I’ve ever had and checked out the Mardi Gras menu at The Tulip. Aaaaand I’m headed to get tacos in an hour. Always about the food.

Highs and Lows

High: Gotta be Mardi Gras eats. I love holidays centered around food and getting to savor something you usually wouldn’t eat year-round!

Low: I’ve done something to my knee and think it may be tendonitis. It may be hard to believe, but I actually really enjoy working out, so it’s been tough not being able to run out my stress this week! I’m going to a sports medicine doctor tomorrow, wish me luck!

Links I love

For my blogger babes: 7 Apps to Help you Blog Smarter, Not Harder. I found so many of these really helpful. I’ve recently fallen in love with Canva for making blog-worthy images without the software or skill set. And I had totally forgotten about StumbleUpon! It’s so fun and a great inspiration source.

For the reader: 31 Amazing Books That May Just Help You Be An Adult. I keep a running list of books I want to read on my phone and I’ve added a few of these to my list! I’m currently reading You Are a Badass and it has definitely inspired me so far.

A new Sriracha product?? I’m so intrigued by these “stix” that infuse the flavor of Sriracha into meat.

For anyone looking to send me a present 😉 Beauty and the Beast + Le Creuset. If you’ve been following my Insta stories, you know I’m creepily obsessed with the new Beauty and the Beast movie. Another thing to know about me: I’m also OBSESSED with Le Creuset. I own a surprising amount of French cookware for a 24 year old woman, but I’ve been collecting for years now!

As if I needed another reason to eat cheese, this article details why cheese is healthy for you.

My dinner plans tomorrow night: weeknight, creamless alfredo sauce. It only calls for 5 ingredients – my kind of recipe!

Thrillist took one for the team and ranked the best fast food french fries. My favorites: McDonald’s, Chick Fil A, Steak & Shake, Whataburger and Shake Shack.

I went to the concert of a friend-of-a-friend’s this weekend. Check out Annie Lawrence for some sweet, encouraging music!

Quote of the Week

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” Thoreau is one of my favorites and this quote in particular has inspired me since high school. I’ve been up to a little brainstorming/dreaming of what this blog could become one day, so it only seemed appropriate to put this inspiration up on my wall for the week! And yes, I realize I spelled confidently wrong. Too bad felt boards don’t have spell check {insert face palm emoji here.}

I hope y’all are inspired to chase your dreams this week too!

Biscuits & blessings,

Leels
