What is Lex Eats? One girl’s love affair with food in Lexington, Kentucky, and tales from her kitchen. Lexington Blogger
Hi there! I’m Leela, a Kentuckian and food-lover. Born and raised in the Bluegrass, I moved down south for college at the University of Alabama and then journeyed north to NYC after graduation. As a publicist for food and wine brands I spent a fair amount of time reading “lifestyle blogs”. We always joked around the office that blogging would be the dream job. The more I worked with bloggers, the more I realized they had the job I really wanted; to be able to share my love of food with the world!
So I did just that and started this blog when I moved home to Lexington in 2015. I share recipes, lifestyle and local content. I like to think of my food as “healthyish“. Don’t get me wrong, I can get down with a kale salad or quinoa bowl, but I also love cheese. Like really, really love cheese. So, you’re likely to find a mix of healthy snacks and weeknight dinners with some glorious cheesy concoctions. In addition to food, I LOVE to travel and am always planning my next trip. It’s my goal to visit six continents before I die (I think I’d be fine without Antarctica). I’m currently half way there!
I live in Lexington with my husband Dave and our dog Zeke. I also work on the marketing team for Bluegrass Hospitality Group.. I like to say that I eat for a living. As much as I identify as a food-lover and a Lexington blogger, I am first a follower of Jesus. I’ve never been the type of person to wear my faith on my sleeve, but I’ve always felt called to be a light in this world that can be so filled with darkness. I hope my cooking and rambling thoughts can bring some brightness to your day and please, oh please, know that no matter what you believe you are incredibly loved my friend!
I would love to meet you; please feel free to reach out via the form below.
Biscuits and blessings,
Leels
PS: A few disclaimers: I sometimes use affiliate links, which means if you purchase from my link I will make a small commission at no extra cost to you. I also work with brands on sponsored blog posts from time to time. I promise I consider what brands I work with very thoughtfully and value your trust more than anything, so would never agree to a partnership that didn’t feel authentic and true. Those posts are always labeled as sponsored, so you know what’s up 🙂 I appreciate your support that makes this blog possible. All views expressed are 100% my own and do not reflect my employer.
