TBH, it’s that time between the holidays and spring when I am just counting down the days til 60 degree weather and it feels like there’s nothing fun to do. But there are actually lots of fun things going on in Lexington! Check them out below:
2/2-6: Halfway to Burger Week

The Kentucky Theater
I’m so excited the Kentucky is finally back open! This historic theater in downtown Lexington is my favorite place to catch a movie. Check out the calendar for showtimes.
2/4-5: The Apiary Tearoom
On the first weekend of the Lunar New Year, the Apiary Tearoom will be opening again for an elegant Afternoon Tea inspired by the teahouses of Asia. Choose from a selection of fine teas from across the Asian continent while we warm cardamom scones with coconut curd and pomelo marmalade for the table. Next, enjoy savory courses of inspired tea sandwiches and miso poached black cod before finishing with a decadent tea tower layered with pastry, tarts, macrons, and matcha cake with pink peppercorn.
2/6: Galentine’s Day at Kayla Weber Art Studio
My friend Kayla is an incredibly talented local artist. From 11am-4pm, enjoy giveaways every hour, free mini abstract painting class, cocktails and check out Kayla’s new products!
2/10: Galentine’s Day at The Blushery
Celebrate with your girlfriends at this cute local boutique. Starting at 4pm, $5 frozé, yoga class (sign up required), jewelry pop up shops and make-up demos.

2/11: Valentine’s Cocktail Party at The Apiary
Fadi El Saadi is traveling to us from Lebanon to bring your Friday night to life with his beat driven dance music while the enchanting Troupe Banat Nawaar of Arabesque World Dance inspire you to get up and join them on the floor. Dubke the night away with George Wakim on Doumbek, then head to the garden tent for hookah and Turkish coffee! Apiary will be providing a curated à la carte bar and passed meze throughout the evening. $85 tickets.
2/11: Black in Blue Documentary at the Leeds Center
Enjoy a viewing of Black in Blue, a documentary telling the story of four African American football players at the University of Kentucky who broke the color line in the Southeastern Conference in the 1960s. Nate Northington, Greg Page, Wilbur Hackett, and Houston Hogg endured racism and hardship, but ultimately, their courage and the bonds of team loyalty would ensure the success of integration at UK. Viewing is free, but registration recommended.

Learn how to make pasta at Pasta Garage! I’ve done this class a few times and it’s so fun, insightful and you get to eat lots of yummy pasta. $80 tickets.
