Nora Goes Off Script
This is maybe my favorite of the bunch! Nora is a recently divorced mom and writes movie scripts for what’s essentially the Hallmark channel. She ends up having one of her movies filmed at her house. The book follows how she interacts with a particular cast member and is super cute!
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
Another love! This book has gotten a lot of press so you’ve probably heard of it. Evelyn Hugo is a notorious movie star who was married seven times. In her old age, she invites an up and coming journalist to write her biography. You learn of Evelyn’s storied past, but also see the relationship she forms with the author.
The Last Summer at Chelsea Beach
I love WWII historical fiction. This story is about a Jewish girl who leaves Italy for the US at the beginning of the war and moves in next door to a family of boys she finds a home with. There’s a love story mixed in. I really liked it, but didn’t love the ending so can’t say I loved it. Would recommend if you feel like you’ve run out of historical fiction to read, but there are far better available!
Drunk on Love
I love anything Jasmine Guillory writes, so knew I’d like this one! It’s a romance that takes place in Napa Valley. If you’ve ready her others the plot is pretty similar, but a quick easy read that keeps you interested!
It Ends With Us
So I don’t know why it took me so long to get on the Colleen Hoover train, but I finally did and I get the hype! I started It Ends With Us and stayed up til 3am finishing it because I couldn’t stop. If you are one of the few who still hasn’t read it, it actually is a little heavy and should include a trigger warning for domestic violence. It’s a love story with some very hard truths. I know that sounds weird, but the story and characters just pull you in and will keep you will be thinking about the book for days after you finish it.

And it was so good I read the sequel the very next day!
One Italian Summer
I wanted to love this one, but it fell a tad flat. I wouldn’t not recommend it, but there were just some holes. The main character’s mother dies and she goes on a trip to Positano they were supposed to take together. I loved all the Italy references, but the character was a little unlikeable. She’s very un-independant and kind of selfish. But it’s an easy read and would recommend if you have a trip to Positano coming up 😉
Austenland
I love anything Jane Austen, which is why I picked this up. It’s about a girl who goes to a Jane Austen themed fantasy resort. Honestly it wasn’t my favorite. The plot of the resort was kind of weird and it had too much modern day to tickle my Jane Austen fantasy.
A Summer Affair
I have a love hate relationship with Elin Hilderbrand books. They are so devour-able, but sometimes I find the characters very unredeemable. I should have known I wouldn’t love this one, but truthfully I found it at my neighborhood free little book store, so I gave it a shot. The main character makes some really questionable decisions (you can probably guess from the title), that honestly I couldn’t get past. It went really quick though and I wanted to find out what happened so it was an easy read.
Ribbon Ridge Series
Okay this one is really embarrassing.. it’s a corny, smutty romance series that I accidentally started reading. I thought I was renting a different book by the same title that had been recommended, but was interested in the story by the time I figured it out. The series follows a set of adult siblings including a set of sextuplets and how they come back together after a major life event. Essentially each book follows a different sibling and their love story. The writing really isn’t good, but I liked the characters and ended up buying the rest of the e-books on the last day of vacation/driving home from Hilton Head because I wanted to see what happened! It’s a major guilty pleasure for sure!
