Y’all requested holiday cocktail ideas, so I’m so excited to partner with Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. to bring them to ya! Jack Rudy is a family-run company based in Lexington, KY, and Charleston, SC, that produces small batch cocktail mixers. It’s named for the founders’ great grandfather, an inventor, entrepreneur and daredevil – he once illegally flew his plane under the Ohio River Bridge on a dare.
All Jack Rudy products are crafted in the US in small batches, and the quality is evident. A little of their syrup, tonic or bitters really elevates a cocktail. I love that you don’t need a bunch of crazy ingredients to make an impressive cocktail. I’ve put together some recipes for your holiday entertaining below, but I also think Jack Rudy products would make a great gift and they have generously provided Lex Eats readers with a discount code! Use lexeats10 for 10% off your purchase. Any of the syrups or tonics would make a great hostess gift or stocking stuffer, but my favorite is the Sweet Tea Syrup. This is a great gift idea for the hard to shop for person; pair a syrup with a bottle of their favorite booze. I’m planning on gifting my dad the Old Fashioned Bundle with his favorite bourbon. I’m also obsessed with the Bourbon Cocktail Cherries – I may or may not have put them on ice cream. Christmas Cheer Punch
This first one is a batched non-alcoholic drink. I like serving non-alcoholic punch at parties so that your guests have the option of adding alcohol if they please. This punch is almost like a sangria and would be great with vodka! It’s so easy to whip up, you literally just dump all the ingredients in a pitcher. You can make it ahead of time so it’s one less thing to worry about during party prep.
Ingredients
- 4 cups tart pomegranate juice
- 1 cup orange juice
- 5oz Jack Rudy Sweet Tea Syrup
- 2oz Jack Rudy Demerara Syrup
- 2 oranges, sliced
- 2 limes, sliced
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- soda or tonic water
Directions
- Add all ingredients except the soda water to a pitcher and mix to combine
- Refrigerate for at least two hours or overnight
- Pour over ice and top with soda water – or if you want it a bit sweeter, you can use tonic water; Jack Rudy’s is great quality and delicious
Shirley Grown Up
I have a confession. I still love a Shirley Temple! I wanted to find a way to dress up the old soda and grenadine, and was inspired by the Jack Rudy Grenadine. It has a robust flavor, but is not overly sticky sweet like the grenadine of my youth. I loved the combo with some vodka and fresh lime juice for a refreshing, yet festive cocktail. PS: if you want a delicious mocktail, just leave out the vodka and add a little more tonic water.
Ingredients
- 2oz vodka
- 1oz lime juice
- 1/2oz Jack Rudy Grenadine
- tonic water
- Cherry for garnish
Directions
- Add vodka, lime juice and grenadine to a glass with ice and stir to combine
- Top with tonic water and garnish with a cherry – I know this is a vodka drink, but I tried it with Jack Rudy Bourbon Cocktail Cherries and it was delicious!
Dad’s Drink
I can’t claim this one, it’s one of Jack Rudy’s signature cocktails. It was too good not to share! The warming flavors of bourbon combined with the Sweet Tea Syrup is perfect for the holidays. The Sweet Tea Syrup and Lavender Bitters come in a bundle together here at a discount.
