Just a little reminder, Mother’s Day is in less than a week! I’ve rounded up some gift ideas for the last-minute shoppers (#nojudgementzone).
For the Foodie Lexington Mom
I hate giving gift cards, but I love to receive them. A gift card to mom’s favorite restaurant is an easy gift she’s sure to love! I also love gifting flavored olive oils, vinegars and salts from local Stuarto’s Olive Oil Company. You know I’m big on gifting experiences – Lexington Pasta’s classes are so fun or Wild Thyme offers cooking classes. The Keeneland Shop has really cute platters, glassware and serving pieces. Or how about a bottle of wine? Wine + Market has a great selection plus artisanal chocolates, cheese and other foods.
For the Lexington Mom who needs a Day Off
Mom can always use more relaxation! A gift certificate for a massage is thoughtful and would be well appreciated; try The Massage Center, they’re running a $95 Mother’s Day special right now. Prive is my go-to for facials or you could do a manicure from Varnish, a new non-toxic nail shoppe. Or how about a book from Joseph Beth?
For the Fashion Forward Lexington Mom
Shop Local Kentucky has the best Mother’s Day tees! “Kentucky’s Okayest Mom” and “I’m not a regular Mom, I’m a cool Kentucky Mom” are my favs. They also have matching sets for moms and kids. Some of my favorite local shops for clothing for mom are Cotton Patch, World’s Apart and AJ’s.
For the Sentimental Lexington Mom
Mom probably just wants to spend time with you! Take a Level Up class together; they’re offering 20% off purchases over $50 for Mother’s Day. Peggy’s always has great personalized pieces. You can’t go wrong with flowers or a plant that Mom can plant in her yard and always think of you. Try Louis’ or Springhouse Gardens. If you have young kids, a hand-painted piece by the kids from Mad Potter is a great idea.
For the Fit Lexington Mom
My mom would love to receive a workout class package. CycleYOU, Pure Barre and SWEAT are my local go-tos. Workout gear also makes a great gift. Check out Fitness Collective or Sala Studio.
For the Kentucky-Loving Lexington Mom
Kentucky for Kentucky is my go-to for anything, well, Kentucky-themed. These necklaces would be a great pick for mom! Kayla Weber Art has the most amazing equestrian prints and paintings. You can also shop her stuff (and other KY makers) at The Amsden in Versailles. This Lexington print by Thirsty Hearts Design is one of my all-time favs.. it’s actually hanging on my wall! These Kentucky Bourbon Trail retro rocks glasses are too cool. You’d probably have to rush ship, but I’ve also seen them at Liquor Barn before.
Happy shopping! If y’all have any great gift ideas for Mother’s Day let me know in the comments below. And Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommas out there!
Biscuits & blessings,
Leels
Aside from their store I think lunch @ Wine + Market would be a perfect alternative to all the overcrowded brunch places – their food is so good!
Yes! They have the best sandwiches!
I LOVE the idea of giving a class! Time spent together is always great. These are all such great ideas!
I always try and gift experiences if I can! So personal!

Agree with everyone else; a class is such a great way to spend time with your mom! My mom’s on vacation so I actually got a couple extra days to shop haha.
Ah nice, you can probably snag a card on sale 😉
This makes me wish my mom lived in Lexington so I could do all of this with her!
Kayla’s prints would make a lovely gift!! Her paintings are all so beautiful!
I know, I want them all for myself!
These are all such great ideas! I’m with Becky–wish my mom lived here so we could take a fun class together!
I’m sure it’s hard being far away!
I’m not a mom. I still wish somebody would get me these things.
