So this may seem like a kinda silly topic, but I’m still in that “new year, new me” mode (actually it took me a while to get into it, ha) and with the current health climate I’m putting more effort into my overall wellness. So I thought I’d share a few of my favorite wellness products and how I use them. A little disclaimer first: 1. I am not a doctor and this blog is not medical advice, simply a real person sharing products they enjoy. Please ask your doctor before adding any supplements to your routine. 2. You don’t have to spend a bunch of money to be “healthy”! You can nourish your body with good foods, stay active, take time for yourself and most of all, give yourself grace. We’re living in a pandemic, and we’re experiencing emotions and stress like we never have before. I personally have had to accept that fact that I’m not operating at as high a level as usual, and giving myself a lot more rest and “off” days than usual. I also want to mention that the best thing I ever did for wellness was starting therapy. It literally changed my life and has given so many tools to deal with emotions/stress/relationships in a healthier matter, as well as transformed my faith. I’d be happy to chat with you more about my experience with therapy, but if you’ve been thinking about it, let me be the encouragement to DO IT 🙂
Elder-Mune Sambucus Elderberry Gummies
Elderberry is supposed to have a lot of antioxidants and be great for your immune system. I had always heard to take it when you get a cold. My mom’s doctor recommended we start taking these gummies at the beginning of the pandemic and now I take one almost every day. Elder-mune combines Sambucus elderberry, a potent antioxidant extract that helps support immune system health, with immunity boosters Vitamin C and zinc to create your go-to, 3-in-1 immunity boosting elderberry gummies.
Vitamin D
Another doctor recommended vitamin everyone should be taking every day, especially during covid times.
Source Naturals Wellness Formula
I found this supplement a few years ago, I think on Instagram. It’s recommended to take as soon as you feel a cold or something coming on. It’s made with over 30 ingredients, including antioxidants, herbal extracts, vitamins and minerals. These ingredients provide targeted support for all of the body systems associated with immunity. I’ll be honest, it doesn’t taste great and they are somewhat larger pills, but I swear this stuff has helped me ward off colds. Now I take four capsules every day to support my overall wellness.
Konsyl Fiber
I take fiber every day and it’s a game changer for my digestive wellness. You can read more about my journey with Konsyl here.
Align Probiotic
My GI doctor recommended I take Align probiotic daily along with the fiber. It’s also great for your digestive health!
Liquid I.V.
I found Liquid I.V. last year, and am now not sure what I did without it. Liquid I.V. uses Cellular Transport Technology, or CTT®, which is designed to enhance rapid absorption of water and other key ingredients into the bloodstream. It’s basically like drinking three glasses of water in just one. I drink one if I have a headache, am starting to feel something coming on, or if I had one too many glasses of wine the night before and it’s a game changer! I love the guava, acai berry and watermelon hydration multipliers, the immune support tangerine when I’m feeling sick, and the energy multiplier for a little boost to fight the afternoon slump. You can use code LEXEATS25 to save 25% and get free shipping on Liquid I.V.
Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides
I’ve been using Vital Proteins for a few years now, and it’s just about the only protein powder I can stomach. It’s essentially flavorless, so I’ll add it to my tea or smoothies. Collagen is said to support healthy hair, skin, nails, joints, ligaments, and tendons.
Amazing Grass Protein Superfood Rich Chocolate
Speaking of protein powder, this is the only other one I like! Amazing Grass has 20g of protein, plus 7 alkalizing greens, 9 nutrient-dense fruits and vegetables, and 2 full servings of fruits and vegetables per serving. Alfalfa, Spirulina, Chlorella, and Acai. I hate the taste of most protein, and this is the only true protein powder I’ve tried that I like. It has a very slightly chalky taste, but if I mix it with almond milk I find it’s pretty dang close to chocolate milk! This helps me keep my protein up, especially on T.R.I.M. Bootcamp low carb days.
Goop Glow
I drank Goop Glow leading up to my wedding, and do think it helped with my skin. According to Goop: “Drink your way to glowing skin with a healthy dose of skin-supporting ingredients: vitamins C and E, grape-seed proanthocyanidins, and CoQ10, along with the critical carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin. A power shot of antioxidants and nutrients designed to reduce the free radical effects of the sun, pollution, stress, and more, it helps protect against oxidative photodamage, which can lead to signs of premature aging like dullness, uneven tone, fine lines, and loss of firmness.” I will say, it’s relatively expensive ($60 for 30, so $2 a day), so I’m not using it now, but would if I had more of a disposable income or preparing for a big life event like a wedding!
Biscuits & blessings,
