Sunday Reading, V. 22

It’s a rainy Sunday here in Lexington. I’m curled up on the couch with a cup of tea trying to get some things done, but it’s so tempting to just take a nap. Oh well, here we go.. I had a fun weekend; did the Lexington trifecta – Keeneland, tailgating and then the game. Dave (I’m not sure if I’ve formally introduced y’all to my boyfriend lol) and I got to go on the field during the game, which was so cool! Then I went to church and brunch at Lexington Diner today.

Highs & Lows

High: Gotta be getting on the field at the game.. I felt like a coach, ha!

Low: Another sad week for our country. My heart is with Vegas and all those hurting over this tragedy.

I’ll leave you with this interesting read on “alive time” versus “dead time.” An interesting piece on how we sometimes get so consumed by the future that we waste the time and opportunity we currently have. Instead of thinking that you’re going to be stuck in this job that you hate for another year, look at it as an opportunity to learn and grow and spend time preparing for your next move.

These got delivered to my office this week.. that didn’t suck.
Quote of the Week

One of my favorites from Mr. Rogers. Seemed appropriate this week. I find comfort in stories of strangers coming to each other’s aid. I bought coffee for my Instagram followers this week, and hearing from people who got to enjoy a coffee on me seriously made my week. I encourage you to think about how you can spread kindness; this world certainly needs it.

Biscuits & blessings,

Leels
