Sunday Reading V. 34

Happy sunny Sunday friends! We had rain all week in Lexington and it was huge downer. I still had a pretty good week though! My roommate and I hosted girls night and I made some pretty tasty chocolate chip cookies and a gnocchi dish.. both of which I’ll be sharing with you soon 😉

Wednesday night I went to a Level Up workshop hosted by my friend Sarah about having a ‘successful side hustle.’ I’ve been in a bit of a funk recently trying to figure out what the next step is for this blog. I have a few ideas, but they go in pretty opposite directions so I feel like I need to choose a specific path and am struggling with that. When I get stuck, my tendency is to just ignore everything. Even sending an email is hard for me. I left the workshop feeling reinvigorated, and while I still don’t know exactly what my game plan is, I’m motivated to keep hustling towards it.

This weekend was pretty chill. Catching up on work and cleaning around the house and some Netflix and chill with Dave. I gave up take-out for Lent so it was a Digorino for dinner even though we really wanted Donatos, ha! We did make it to brunch at Stella’s this morning.

Highs & Lows

High: I started an Instagram stories series called International Fridays where I’m going to visit a different International restaurant every other Friday. I’m also trying to find places where you can get a $5 lunch.. if you have any recommendations send them my way and make sure you’re following along on Instagram.

Low: Seasonal depression is a real thing and this rain and grey was not cool this week.

Hyped about this new Amazon Prime service that lets you buy samples of products before committing to the full size.

Avocado proposals.. genius or cringe-worthy?

Leaving you with this article that really resonated with me – how saying no can help you get ahead at work.

  1. 1. SO glad you came to my workshop and left feeling invigorated!
    2. You really don’t want my suggestions for $5 lunch, but I’m the queen of trash eating: Fazolis, KFC, or Little Sleazers. If you’re trying to die prematurely, these work.
    3. Seasonal depression is SO real. Feeling ya hard on this one – cheers to warmer weather forthcoming.

  2. I looooove Jasmine Rice and Tandoor (for the buffet) as places for your international Friday. That is such a fun idea! I’ve been trying to think of $5 lunch places and I’m drawing a blank (unless you’re counting a drive thru dollar menu.) I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

  3. Uhhhh that new Amazon Prime option is a game changer!! I hadn’t heard about it yet, but am PUMPED.

That brunch looks delicious and I’m glad that the workshop got you excited to make ish happen!

  4. Okay, I’m excited for your list of $5 lunch spots. I’m so tired of spending too much money when o decide to buy lunch. Also I completely agree with you about seasonal depression. So glad daylight saving time is this weekend 😭🙌🏾
