I polled my Instagram audience, and y’all overwhelmingly wanted Thanksgiving sides recipes! There were also several requests for “easy” and “healthy-ish”. This recipe falls under both of those categories. I know oven space is precious on Thanksgiving day, so I wanted to come up with a nice green vegetable that you could pull of in 20 minutes or so while your stuffing etc. is cooking.
Ingredients
- 32oz green beans, washed and trimmed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
Directions
- Heat large frying pan over medium heat
- Add olive oil and minced garlic and cook for two minutes
- Add green beans and stir thoroughly, making sure green beans are coated in olive oil
- Cook for 15 minutes stirring every few minutes
- Combine balsamic vinegar and maple syrup in a small bowl then pour over green beans
- Cook for 5 more minutes stirring to combine
Feeds 10-12, you can easily halve the recipe for a smaller crowd.
Is there an easier Thanksgiving recipe? Now don’t get me wrong, this isn’t going to be the star of your meal, but it’s a solid healthy green vegetable and it won’t kill you in the kitchen! It has good flavor and I love the crunch of the green beans, especially when so many Thanksgiving sides are usually a saucy casserole.
