It is officially Summer in the great city of Lexington, KY! Check out all the festivals, food and events you can’t miss this Summer.

June-October: Thursday Night Live

Live music, food trucks and outdoor bars every Thursday night at the Pavilion. 

June-September: Lakeside Live

Live music every Friday and Saturday night at Lexington Green

June-October: Lexington Farmer’s Market

I love spending Saturday morning at the Farmer’s Market picking out fresh produce and grabbing a snack or two. The market runs through October operating on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Farmer’s Market Bounty

June-September: Summer Classics at the Kentucky Theater

Catch a different classic film every Wednesday for just $6.

July 10-August 28: Big Band & Jazz at Ecton Park

Catch live music at Ecton Park every Tuesday at 7pm.

July 26-August 4: Lexington Restaurant Week

More restaurant week goodness! $27 multi-course specials or two can dine for $27 at over 30 local restaurants.

August 4: Boutique Bazaar

This is one of the best sales of the year! A bunch of local boutiques come together for a giant sale with 50-75% off. Starting at 9:30am at the Oleika Temple.

August 4: Sunset in the Sunflower Fields

Pick $1 sunflowers and catch the sunset at Evans Orchard! This is the only time they’re open late (until 7:30pm.)

September 7: Feed Dinner Series

Local Feed out of Georgetown has paired with local chefs for a dinner series. Upcoming are a Japanese dinner and dinner with Chef Jonathan Lundy of Corto Lima. Tickets start at $60.

August 10: Field to Table

Enjoy a five-course progressive dinner in downtown Lexington from over 20 central Kentucky chefs. Tickets are $75.

August 11: Local Farm Feast

Savor the summer harvest from Shaker Village’s garden, as well as the bounty from other local farmers, cheese makers, meat producers, distillers and wine makers at a communal outdoor dinner. Tickets are $85.

August 11-12: CRAVE

Try bites from tons of local food vendors at Masterson Station Park. 

August 15 & September 19: Chew Dinner Series

A local dinner series featuring local chefs and restaurants. Upcoming are Thai and Indian dinners.

August 17-18: Ballet Under the Stars

Enjoy a performance by the Kentucky Ballet Theatre at Woodland Park. There is a youth performance before the show at 8pm and the main performance begins at 9pm every night. Tickets are only $6. Bring a blanket and picnic!

August 17-18: Picnic with the Pops

One of Lexington’s most anticipated summer events. Bring a picnic and enjoy the music of the Rolling Stones by the Lexington Philharmonic. Tickets are available for table and blanket seating.

August 18-19: Woodland Arts Fair

One of my favorite events of the year. Artists from all over the country will be set up selling at Woodland Park. Plus local food trucks and beer tents!

August 25: Chevy Chase Street Fair

Live music, street food, drinks, vendors and activities for the kids at the 800 block of Euclid!

August 25: Passport to Flavor

This international food fair benefits Kentucky Refugee Ministries.

August 26: Jewish Food Festival

Tickets are $20 to sample traditional Jewish food items like knishes, corned beef sandwiches, borscht, kosher hot dogs, Israeli salad and more. 

September 7-8: Christ the King Oktoberfest

One of the best events of late summer! Live music, food vendors, beer tent and lots of games for kids and adults.

September 15-16: Midway Fall Festival

Fall isn’t technically until September 23, but we’ll let this pass. Food, vendors and arts and crafts just down the road in Midway.

  2. What a great list! We went to Lakeside Live a few weeks ago and it was fun for my whole family! Crave is my favorite thing in Lexington. And I can’t wait for burger week! Thanks for sharing!
