Life Update.. We bought a house!

Well hello my long lost friends! I know, its been a hot minute. TBH I had a lot going on personally/professionally and took a break from blogging out of sake for my own sanity. Then the farther I got away from it, the harder it got to “pick up the keyboard” again.. But I’ve missed you! So wanted to give a little life update…

Part of the reason I’ve been quiet is that Dave and I bought our first house together! We actually put an offer on our house back in April, but it was a long process getting to closing and we honestly thought we may not get the house, so didn’t want to talk about it publicly. While trying to figure all that out, Dave sold his house and we got a tenant for my condo. So we packed both of our houses into a U-Haul for a few days and then finally got to move into the new house a few weeks ago. Probably shouldn’t share the location with strangers on the internet 😉 but I will say we love our neighborhood! It’s a two-bedroom house with a finished basement and has potential for some fun updates.

It’s still pretty chaotic and there are lots of boxes left, but I’m so excited to get settled and decorate. I’m actually not moving in until after the wedding, so I’m living with my parents for the summer. So I’ve essentially been living out of suitcases out of two houses for the last few weeks, thus my lack of sanity.

Also since we last talked, I went on my bachelorette party in Palm Springs (blog post coming soon, I promise), traveled some for work, had a stock the bar and my bridal shower, celebrated my little sister’s college graduation in Chicago, and helped open the new Drake’s in Burlington, NC, for work. We also had to put down my dog Happy, which has been pretty sad. She was 17 and it was definitely her time, but being back at my parents’ house makes me miss her even more. We have another wedding party this weekend, then it’s Fourth of July, then Dave’s birthday… and it just doesn’t stop. There are 44 days til the wedding and I just can’t believe it!

I had been feeling pretty chill about wedding stuff and felt like we had a lot of time, but now I’m starting to freak out a bit. We have all the big stuff done, but all these little things are piling up and feeling a tad overwhelmed. Thinking I probably owe y’all a wedding update soon as well! We have to pick out things like wedding favors, song lists, if we’re doing a “getaway”, finalize a few things for the honeymoon… nothing major, but the list keeps growing! Will share more soon 🙂
