Thanksgiving is so close… I can’t believe it! Dave and I are actually traveling internationally this year, so I am a little sad to miss all the traditional Thanksgiving food, but I’ve rounded up all my fav recipes below in the spirit of the holiday! If you need help with already prepared items (full meals, pies, bread, sides etc.) check out this post!
Sweet Potato Casserole
This is my Aunt Marcia’s recipe. It has a crunchy brown sugar butter topping that is my favorite.
Boursin Mashed Potatoes
Because we need all the potatoes, these mashed potatoes are rich and creamy.
Brussels Sprouts with Bacon
I’m not sure if Brussels sprouts are a traditional Thanksgiving recipe, but I believe they should be. Made better with bacon and Parmesan.
Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad
Or try a brussels sprouts salad this year! This recipe is easy and can be partially prepped ahead.
One Pot Creamy Butternut Squash Pasta
This pasta dish is basically mac ‘n cheese, but the butternut squash adds a warm fall flavor! It’s all made in one pot and cooks down to a creamy cheesy sauce.
Savory Bread Pudding
A new recipe this year that I’m proposing for a stuffing substitute. TBH I find stuffing is usually dry and somewhat bland, but this savory bread stuffing is not! Bread, sausage, Brussels sprouts and cheese are layered and covered with a milk and egg mixture.
Harvest Salad
I got a few requests for a Thanksgiving salad recipe. This one is loaded with roasted sweet potato, dried cranberries, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese and bacon. All the best things!
Balsamic Glazed Green Beans
If you feel like you need more green on your menu, these beans are simple and cooked on the stove top to leave room in the oven.
Sour Cream Muffins
If you need an easy bread idea, these mini sour cream muffins are it. They’re addictive!
Cheesy Green Chili Sausage Cups
These little sausage cups are the perfect one bite appetizer!
Baked Camembert
A simple appetizer to keep people entertained while you’re finishing up dinner!
Brie & Apple Tart
This tart is so pretty and easy to prepare!
Sausage Pinwheels
My family always has Sausage Pinwheels while watching the parade, or you could go for Cheesy Sausage Squares as an appetizer.
Christmas Cheer Punch
My favorite batched cocktail (or mocktail) for a crowd. It’s warming and a little cinnamon-y, perfect for the holidays.
And here are a few of my favorite recipes that are not my own:
My sister’s specialty are these Grainy Mustard Mashed Potatoes.
I’m not a big pumpkin or pecan pie girl, but Sally’s Baking Addiction Salted Caramel Apple Pie is one of my favs. I also love Half Baked Harvest’s Molten Chocolate Pie at the holidays.
I’m hoping you have a great Thanksgiving! I’m continually grateful for your support that makes this blog of mine possible!
Biscuits & blessings,
Leels
