Keeneland season is always my favorite time of year. I know this year looks a lot different, but we can still celebrate from home! Keeneland is live streaming the races so you can throw your own watch party! I put together my own little party and filmed a segment that will be played on the live stream this Friday, October 16.
For my watch party I ordered from Bluegrass Hospitality Group’s large pan catering menu. I got all my favorites – mini cheeseburgers, boneless chicken bites, macaroni and cheese and sea salt chocolate chip cookies. I used items from the Keeneland Shop to get in the racing spirit. These Cat Studio glasses are my favorite! I also made Malone’s craft cocktail, ‘The Basic’. Get the recipe below:
The Basic, serves one
Ingredients
- 2oz vodka
- 1oz lemon juice
- .5oz demerara syrup
- 5 fresh blackberries
- ice
Directions
- Add vodka, lemon juice, demerara syrup and 4 of the blackberries to a shaker tin with ice
- Shake well and strain over a glass with ice
- Garnish with a fresh blueberry
