Trader Joe’s Valentine Board

Y’all know I love a good snack board. We hosted friends for game night this past weekend, and to be honest, I really just wanted an excuse to buy all the things from Trader Joe’s. So I put together this sweet and savory snack board with some of their Valentine’s items. This would be fun to make for your Valentine or Galentine’s Day celebration! WOr just to check out all the new things at TJ’s right now 😉

Ingredients

  • wedge of brie
  • wedge of bacon cheddar cheese
  • chocolate hummus
  • pretzel thins
  • one apple, sliced
  • beet crackers
  • raspberry heart shortbread cookies
  • pink and white cookies
  • brookies
  • crackers of choice
  • strawberry fruit spread
  • chocolate covered cherries
  • mandarin oranges
  • rosemary

Directions

  1. Place your cheese on opposite ends of the board
  2. Put chocolate hummus in a bowl and place in between the cheese
  3. Arrange pretzel thins next to hummus
  4. Arrange apple slices between pretzels and cheese
  5. Place raspberry heart shortbread cookies next to cheese
  6. Add pink and white cookies in a bowl on the other side of the shortbread cookies
  7. Arrange brookies on other side of bowl
  8. Stack crackers in center of board
  9. Add strawberry fruit spread to  small ramekin in center of board
  10. Fill empty space in center of board with chocolate covered cherries
  11. Fill holes with mandarins
  12. Garnish with rosemary sprigs

First things first, cheese is mandatory for a snack board. I went with a French Brie and Bacon Cheddar. I was really impressed with the quality of the brie. It was super creamy. The Bacon Cheddar was also fun! The bacon flavor wasn’t too powerful. I think it would be a great choice for mac n cheese or grilled cheese.

I’ve been meaning to try chocolate hummus for a while now, and this seemed like the perfect occasion! It tastes surprisingly chocolate-y. We tried a little bit of the hummus with some brie on a cracker and OMG so good.

I picked up the 3 Seed Beet Crackers mostly because they were red and thought fit well with the Valentine theme, but I’m so glad I did because they are tasty! They taste kinda like corn chips. They’re gluten free too!

Y’all. These Raspberry Heart Shortbread Cookies will get ya. They taste like a fancy version of a pop-tart! The shortbread is rich and buttery.

I thought these Pinks & Whites cookies were fun looking and reminded me of the frosted animal crackers I had as a kid. They ended up being too artificially sweet tasting to me, but my guests liked them.

The “Brookie” (Brownie + Cookie) was another winner. They’re fudgey and chewy and just so good.

I always like to have a jam to pair with cheese, and went with this Organic Strawberry Fruit Spread. It tasted like fresh strawberries and even though there’s no sugar added, was still sweet.

I couldn’t help myself with these California mandarins. They have the stems attached and I thought were so pretty. I’ve had a cold and have been eating them like crazy for a little vitamin c kick, and they’re great quality!

I hope you’ve been inspired to make something fun for VDAY! Even if you’re not celebrating with a significant other, it’s a great excuse to spend time with friends or just treat yourself 🙂 You deserve it friend!

Biscuits & blessings,

Leels
